"The children from Bullerbü are picking cherries, Pippi Longstocking is playing Don't Touch the Ground" and Michel snuggles up in a woolen blanket in the carriage while the stars twinkle in the cold winter sky. Astrid Lindgren takes us on a journey into her childhood and shows the places where her world-famous children's book characters play, laugh and discover nature - like Astrid Lindgren herself when she was a little girl. A photo journey through the untouched nature and the picturesque villages of Småland. With many private photos from Astrid Lindgren's family album as well as numerous original illustrations from her children's books. Astrid Lindgren in Norway

The first to bring Astrid Lindgren's books abroad was the publisher Damm & Søn in Oslo, with their Norwegian edition of "Pippi Longstocking" already appearing in 1946. This marked the beginning of a long-standing relationship. Today, most of her books in Norway are published by Cappelen Damm, a publishing house formed through the merger of Cappelen and Damm. Astrid's book adaptations into films also became popular in Norway, as did her famous songs. One of Astrid Lindgren's favorite books was "Hunger" by the Norwegian author Knut Hamsun; she often mentioned it as one of her greatest reading experiences.
