Emil lives with his parents Anton and Alma, sister Klein-Ida, maid Lina and farmhand Alfred on the tranquil Katthult farm in Lönneberga. But even if the little, bright Emil actually only wants to help, he always triggers disasters with his involuntary pranks and has to flee from his father's anger into the shed. But Emil doesn't see this as a punishment - on the contrary: he locks the door from the inside in order to carve another wooden figure undisturbed and to think about his pranks.
