Madicken (Swedish)

In the big red house down by the river, there lives Madicken. In the house also live mother and father and little sister Lisabet and a black poodle called Sasso and a kitten called Gosan. And then Alva. Actually Madicken's name is Margareta but that's just when she needs to be admonished as she's called that. It happens quite often actually. Because she has a lot of whims and never thinks twice. Not until afterwards...Madicken is modeled on Astrid Lindgren's childhood friend Anne-Marie Fries, who was called Madicken.Ilon Wikland has illustrated all the books about Madicken.
