The publishing house Novellix has published this essay/short story, where Astrid Lindgren starts from an exchange of letters to depict how two people become a love couple after many years of friendship. The story is also included in the collection Samuel August from Sevedstorp and Hanna in Hult (1975).I can never cease to grieve over her sad fate on that awful Friday morning in June, 1786. Why must she die, when at last she ... but let us not prejudge events! It is best to start from the beginning, preferably ten years earlier, on September 2, 1776.
