The Melkerson family is out on the island to enjoy the spring. Tjorven and her family are there, of course, and so is Söderman and his granddaughter Stina a real tease. And then there are all the animals! Pelle has his beloved rabbit Jocke, Tjorven has his Boatswain and Stina has her own raven. She claims he is an enchanted prince who can say Father all the way into the tub. Fairy tales about enchanted princes are her specialty and she does not lack imagination! One day the old man Vesterman comes home with a baby seal, which Tjorven has to take care of. What joy! The seal is named Moses, and he follows her like a dog and sleeps in her room. Yes, soon Tjorven won't have time with Båtsman And Stina is lucky too, because she gets to take care of a baby lamb that has to be bottle-fed. So in the end they sit there, Tjorven and Stina, each with a feeding bottle and each with a cute animal to feed. And Båtsman faithfully waits for his mother.Maria Nilsson Thore has created lovely, funny pictures with a nice archipelago feel for Astrid Lindgren's tearful and content-rich story.
