In Nangijala, there it is still the time of campfires and fairy tales, and that is where you go when you die. This is what Jonatan Lejon tells his brother Skorpan, who is lying so sick. How can it be so terrible that some have to die when they haven't even turned ten, wonders Skorpan. I think you'll have a great time, assures Jonatan. In Nangijala, you can be part of adventures from morning to evening and at night too. Because it's in Nangijala that all fairy tales happen. A tombstone in Vimmerby cemetery gave Astrid the idea for the ever-current Bröderna Lejonhjärta, her second most translated book. On the stone was written: "Here rest the infant brothers Fahlén, dead in 1860". Then she knew it would be a tale about death and about two brothers. Ilon Wikland illustrated the book. In 2018 there was a new edition illustrated by the artist Jesper Waldersten, produced in collaboration with the film director Tomas Alfredson.
