But he never seems quite happy…In December 1953, Astrid Lindgren received a letter from two thirteen-year-old boys who asked for "just a little story about a dragon" for her own magazine "The Masked Dragon". Astrid Lindgren then wrote The Dragon with the Red Eyes and sent it to the two boys. It is that story that is here published as a picture book with illustrations by Ilon Wikland."
